I'm a sucker for a good drum and bass beat, which naturally led to my agreeing to premiere this new remix before I'd even gotten halfway through.
The beats come compliments of Breakage, a London-based producer who we haven't featured since he remixed Florence And The Machine way back in November of 2011. That's clearly a long hiatus from Indie Shuffle, but he's managed to more than make up for the respite.
The song being remixed is Robert DeLong's "Long way Down," a track released on an EP titled Long Way Down (available for purchase here) roughly 8 months ago. It sets the perfect foundation for a little liquid d&b, resulting in a heaven-made match.
One little interesting tidbit about the track: the official title is "Long Way Down (Breakage's Long Way Round Remix)," a play on the song title that nods to the fact that the pair went back and forth numerous times while perfecting the single. Given one is in the UK and the other is in LA, it basically makes for a Postal Service-esque collab.
