If you're in the mood for eight minutes of pure vibes, then look no further than River Yarra's debut single "The Look." While this is the Melbourne producer's first release under this guise, you may remember some of his earlier work: "Marcus" was released under his his birth name Raudie McLeod.
An accomplished visual artist, McLeod has created a piece of music that conjures up plenty of reflection. From the very start, the listener is drawn into the track's persistent bass rumblings, with the hook from Dusty Springfield's timeless classic "The Look of Love" used on loop. He's even managed to fit in a uniquely Australian feel, sampling a didgeridoo as the track reaches its peak.
"The Look" is the first single off River Yarra's upcoming EP, due out next month via brand new Melbourne label Solitaire.
