River Tiber is the moniker of Canadian producer Tommy Paxton-Beesley, who has recently received a fair bit of attention on the blogosphere, and rightly so.
The multi-instrumentalist and Berklee College of Music graduate collaborated with BADBADNOTGOOD and Ghostface Killah on their rap jazz album Sour Soul, and had his track “No Talk" sampled in “No Tellin” from Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late mixtape. So he has a pretty impressive list of accolades so far.
Even more impressive are his own offerings, with "Waves" becoming a firm favorite in recent times.
River Tiber brings an impressive vocal, surging synths, a subtle yet sultry ambience, and an intrinsic darkness married with R&B sensibilities to the table, and this track helps me deal with life some days.
