Sometimes things just won't work. The chemistry isn't there. You try and try and you try to make it happen, but no matter how much work you put in, it just never feels right.
Destiny then takes its course and somehow you magically end up in a completely different scenario that just works, right away.
I've seen this happen before—back in 2010, with another duo called AlunaGeorge.
Rival Cavves (pronounced Rival Caves), is a music relationship that works. I call it just that because their bio says that this relationship, built on music, is just a side project for members Marissa Longstreet and Matthew Lieberman.
I hate getting attached to side projects in the music-sphere because too many times they never drop anymore music. You're left feeling empty, lost and often confused. Shit sucks.
"Ez Way Out," is a dream/synth-pop electronic jam that exudes LA vibes and LA swag. It's chill and sunny, like winter days in NoHo. It's mellow and energetic, the way a good morning hike over Runyon can feel. It's warm like LA afternoons, and flowy like the LA's beaches.
Hopefully, this side project turns into something more serious and permanent. Something we can all get behind because it simply continues to progress and continues to deliver quality jams on a super consistent basis.
