Why do we like this?

As far as "cutting edge," I don't this song is it. It draws heavily from the early 2000s and one band in particular: Metric.

But to sum it up that way would be unfair, because clearly there's something about this song that makes it unique enough to blog. My guess? It's the chord progression. There's something melancholic but original about it, and I find myself coming back again and again.
