Why do we like this?
Sly5thAve and the ClubCasa Orchestra return to turn another high-fructose corn syrup pop jam into something a bit more interesting. This time, the crew of saxophones, flutes, trombones, flugelhorns, clarinets and trumpets take on Rihanna's platinum ballad "Stay."
Here's how out of the pop loop I am (and proud of it!): I had to YouTube the RiRi track a few times to familiarize myself with it before posting this. It's not bad, and the young woman's talent is apparent, but blah. The Clubhouse crew once again deepen the song's impact, omitting the lyrics and letting the focus go to the music.
With its wistful and bittersweet melody, you may find yourself playing this a few times in a row before you can move on.
