"Empire" is the lead single from J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League’s new project, J.U.S.T.I.C.E. For All, a 13-track album featuring the likes of Lupe Fiasco, Future, T.I., and Chris Brown.
This song in question is a collaboration between Rick Ross and Drake that many have speculated was from the long lost YOLO mixtape the two were said to be working on a few years back.
Upon further inspection, Rap-Up have done their home work and discovered just how old this track is. Drake's verse was taken from "Cannon Ball" off Colin Munroe's 2008 mixtape Colin Munroe Is The Unsung Hero while Ross' verse is from a 2008 collaboration with Birdman, entitled "Addicted."
Drake's verse sounds a little dated (well it is pre-So Far Gone) while Ross is standard Ross, so while not the most inspired release, it's a nice little filler until Views From The 6 drops.
