Conversations with Deities
Regina Spektor jumps back into the forefront with "Becoming All Alone Again" — a narrative experience only Regina Spektor could pull off.
It's great to hear Regina Spektor's voice again, to hear the versatility in storytelling and their ability to mold that with an engrossing and poetic narrative. On top of all that the actual instrumentation is pure un-diluted Regina Spektor - heavy piano emphasis, building choruses, and a subtle and beautifully designed melancholy.
Regina Spektor has always been something of an enigma, not revealing themselves to the world outside of their music. With "Becoming All Alone Again" they've reignited my hunger for their music and I hope to hear more before they disappear again.
