Few Australian electronic artists are as confronting and compelling as Brisbane's Rebel Yell. The impressive DJ and producer has created another dark industrial blow to the head with "Pressure Drop."
Taken from her forthcoming debut album, Hired Muscle, "Pressure Drop" is an experimental techno freakout with a pulsating melody and manipulated vocals. For some reason it reminds me of the opening scene to Blade, although "Pressure Drop" is a much more menacing tune.
The tune is accompanied by a wild film clip directed by Triana Hernandez and edited by Rebel Yell herself. Hernandez had the following to say about the new clip;
"The music video for 'Pressure Drop' is an ode to the 90s, rave culture and club-kids. It explores the muscular intensity of the track through the energy of primary school kids in their own environment - their classroom. When it comes to dancing like no one's watching kids are the fucking best."
Hired Muscle drops later this year.
