Why do we like this?
Earlier this week, I received a very polite email from a band called Real Life Charm asking me to check out their debut single "Freud." A lot of the music I receive in my inbox is generally quite questionable, however, to my surprise, I was absolutely blown away by their music.
An incredibly conceptual project, Real Life Charm is an eight-piece band from Norwich, UK whose members' backgrounds in a mixture of film, illustration, design, and, of course, music has spawned this incredibly interesting and creative musical adventure.
The band's lead single "Freud" is a dreamy affair whose atmospheric textures and glistening guitar licks seem akin to the likes of Youth Lagoon and Alt-J, while retaining its own unique and intelligent imprint. Taking artistic references from the song's imaginative lyrics, the video for "Freud" is well worth watching too. Do so by clicking here.
