Finally, we have been blessed with another track from Melbourne's finest, Rat & Co. I've been following these guys for ages (so has Indie Shuffle collectively, for that matter), and I'm always extra-excited when they drop a new single. "Spring I" (the first of two parts) is the first single since their 2014 sophomore album Binary, and it's just so lush and beautiful -- one of the best chill-out tracks I've heard all year.
While their sights have been set on collaborations and remixes in recent months, it's really wonderful to hear new original music. Warm and inviting from the very first beats, once you get into the rhythm, you really don't want to leave. It's like sinking into a huge, comfortable couch.
The Melbourne artists have received some incredible musical endorsements of late, including Dave Harrington of Darkside (RIP) and Chet Faker, not to mention having performed with Tycho, Chrome Sparks and Purity Ring.
Keep an eye out for "Spring II" and more in coming months.
