Known to most as Grey Worm from Game Of Thrones, Jacon Anderson has another alter ego in the form of singer/songwriter Raleigh Ritchie. As he readies the release of his debut album, Ritchie has gifted fans new tune "Never Say Die."
Although not featured on his debut, "Never Say Die" is a great introduction to Ritchie's genre bending soundscapes and R&B-meets-soul vocals.
Teaming with Kendrick Lemar’s right-hand producer Sounwave (who contributed to To Pimp A Butterfly), the two have conjured a dramatic, snare snapping soul meets pop number that gives a great insight into Ritchie's inner workings. Speaking on the track Ritchie states:
“I guess the song explores the idea that even the most fast living people hit a roadblock at some point, and actually those people are more vulnerable to self-destruction. You can spread yourself out too thinly until there's not much left of you. I was one of those people for a time and I guess I just wanted to talk about it, try and find a way to make peace with it. I hope there's a bit of triumph in the face of that too, that it's something you can come out the other end a stronger person and live another day.”
