I don't often take time to cover covers. But for this particular take on Radiohead's "Karma Police," an exception has to be made. I mean, it's not every day that an artist takes a year to piece together one track as Santa Cruz producer Tree has done here.
In order to bring his cover of "Karma Police" to life, Tree traveled to London for part of the recording process. With this inspiration, as well as help from The Dirty Pretty Strings Quartet and Jonathan Quinn (Snow Patrol's drummer), his final piece incorporates a lovely mix of marimba, cello, guitars, and synths on the track. The finished product is a testament to Tree's artistic vision. His "Karma Police" cover is dark, shifting, and ridiculously captivating. It's one of many reasons you should be on the lookout for Tree's Demons EP, which is set for an August 12th release. Pre-order Demons here.
