Why do we like this?
Forget the bangers that y associate Deadmau5 with. This is anything but. In fact, it's the smoothest landscape of synthesizers and keyboard that I've ever heard Joel Zimmerman pull together.
"Codex" is the sixth track off King of Limbs, which was released earlier this year. If you're like me, you might find it surprising to realize that it's been less than a year since this album came out. Frankly, it didn't have too much of a lasting impression on me. It was a nice album to add to the catalog, but didn't really compare to Amnesiac, Kid A, or In Rainbows.
No matter, though. There were plenty of gems on the album, and "Codex" was on exception. It's nice to see such an awesome cover from Deadmau5.
