When Los Angeles producer
Quixotism told me that he had re-imagined Katy Perry's "Wide Awake," I was excited to hear his take on the track. My experience with Quixotism reworks has always been a very positive one; we've featured some before, including the Regina Spektor-sampling "
Antihero."
"Plummet" tells a dark, self-destructive tale that is truly captivating, which is not something I typically say about anything involving Katy Perry. There's a cinematic quality to Quixotism's music, and "Plummet" in particular reminds me of something Ryan Hemsworth might produce on cloudless night. Anyone else love how the colder trap elements blend so well with the warm vocal samples?
