Why do we like this?
Fans of Regina Spektor will quickly recognize her influence on "Antihero," an emotional electronica track from California-based producer Quixotism. From what he's told me, Quix (I just made up that nickname) is a 23 year-old whose goal is to create music that captures the spirit of his moniker.
For the lazy, "quixotism" refers to impracticality in pursuit of ideals, especially those manifested by rash, lofty, and romantic ideas. Quixotism wants to pull at your heart strings, and does so quiet effectively on "Antihero." Keep in mind that the man currently has less than 50 SoundCloud fans. These are some deep vibes for a bedroom producer.
Quixostim's latest EP, Faustian Plea, is an odd, enchanting way to spend 20 minutes if you get the chance. "Antihero" is the EP's closing track, but will hopefully serve as a proper intro to the its talented producer.
