Melbourne multi-instrumentalist Queen Magic is slowly but surely picking up traction, and is definitely an act worth investing some time in. Hailing from the same camp as the juggernaut that is Hiatus Kaiyote, it's no surprise that soul aficionados are flocking to his smooth arrangements.
Having recently shared the stage with the likes of Hiatus Kaiyote and Taylor McFerrin, he's just come off a slot at this year's Splendour in the Grass (one of Australia's biggest music festivals). Just prior to this performance, he dropped his latest single "Said That You Wanted", a slow jam that draws recollection to the latest Thundercat record. Otherworldly arrangements are paired with his slightly left-of-center vocals, as well as his typically pulsing bass -- a track perfectly suited for your late night playlist.
Currently collaborating with influential producer Taylor Graves (who's worked with the likes of Flying Lotus and Kimbra), you should anticipate more silkiness from Queen Magic in the coming months.
