Why do we like this?

Detroit has been and remains a bastion of innovative electronic music that never fails to excite, baffle, and keep this guy listening.

Quarter Royce is the latest nascent producer and DJ from Detroit who is bringing a unique approach and electronic stylization familiar with but unlike his fellow natives. 

His debut track "Tort" creeps along with a funky demeanor that makes you want to shake, yet watch your back. What at first sounds like an ode to the industrious days of lore quickly becomes a homage to all things Detroit... beats, beats, and more beats.

If this track is any indicator of what Quarter Royce is capable of, I am comfortable predicting that you will see QR on a marquee near you very soon.
