While French electronic music is getting chiller than ever with the recent rise of producers such as FKJ and Darius, Lyon-based producer Pyramid decided to stick to a more nervous, "classic" French electro sound. No surprise, then, if this track reminds you of Justice or Kavinsky.
Why then did record label Kitsuné, well known for having a nose for rising artists, feature it in their New Faces II compilation? Pyramid might be something more than some Daft Punk wannabe. If you're not convinced yet, check out his Night Tales EP released on June 8.
In this particular song, Pyramid blends gloomy synths with unsettling lyrics, resulting in a haunting yet enchanting feeling.
For those enjoying nice music videos, Pyramid just dropped one for "Film Noir". See here.
