Kanye West,
Young Jeezy
Why do we like this?
You'd think being part of Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music label would mean instant success, but for hip-hop veteran Pusha T, it's been a long and arduous three year journey that hasn't exactly gone quite to plan.
Finding success as one half of The Clipse with brother Malice, the duo split after releasing two albums, with Malice turning to God and Pusha signing to West's label. Releasing the Fear Of God mixtape series and featuring on countless other rapper's tracks, Pusha's highly anticipated debut was pushed back from 2012 to early 2013. Six months in and there is still no sign of the album, but we do have another single, "Who Am I."
Reuniting "Mercy" collaborators 2 Chainz and Big Sean, "Who Am I" features a violently impetus West and Million $ Mano beat. Pusha dominates with the opening stanza but all three put in solid verses, even the fumbling Big Sean.
Here's hoping My Name Is My Name gets a release date sooner rather than later.
