Why do we like this?

Omitting the lyrics, the debut single from Pure Moods, "Blurb," sounds like it could be a love song. And in the sense that it is about love, it is. However, "Blurb" isn't as happy as its simple, jangling guitar part would indicate–it's foremost a song about the complexities of the relationships you can have with those in your life while still caring for them.

We've all done things and been people we regret, and the wistful tone of the song captures the emotions that occasionally spill out when we acknowledge that. Lyrics such as "I should write to you" make the listener think about those in their life they should probably write to; everyone has a few. Although you may not be able to directly connect yourself to the situation depicted in "Blurb," it's inevitable that you will empathize with the feelings behind it.
