Why do we like this?

This new dream pop jam from Brooklyn duo PROM is giving PC Music a run for their pop money.

The first release off Ghost Beach's Crazy Heart records features retro drum pads, reverbed synths, and an amazing boy/girl exchange between Ella Zoeller and Gabriel Stanley.

Unlike their cynical pop contemporaries, PROM reveals a sincere appreciation for feel-good, albeit off-kilter, pop music. They manage to maintain a genuine uplifting energy despite mellow lyrics and a slinking beat. Some would call it substance, they call it PROM.
