I'm stoked to be premiering the newest release from Pretty Sister, the brainchild of Zak Waters. He might not be a household name but his cover of Ginuine’s “Pony" last year has already racked up over 4 million plays on Spotify.
I was instantly hooked on "Drive" as soon as the playful opening synths kicked in. Waters' fluid vocals are made for big pop hooks and he delivers over the funky, summer time jam that makes me wish I was in L.A.
The tune has a great feel-good vibe, with Water's explaining he wrote the track from the perspective of someone who's just moved to L.A. for the first time and what it would be like for them "driving through Laurel Canyon with the palm trees and then sun and the warmth... the feeling of endless possibility and beautiful people all around you...it must be pretty exciting."
