Why do we like this?

It's been three years in the making, but NY/LA duo POWERS are finally ready to step it up a level by releasing their debut album Alpha this year.

So what can we expect from it? I think "Heavy" sets the tone for what I can imagine will be a fairly sultry and slow-burning indie pop experience. This thought is aided spectacularly by Crista Ru's boisterous vocal display and Mike Del Rio's brooding dance-floor production, which together is a recipe for success.
