Thank you, Mastercard, for choosing such an infectious and damn right catchy tune in your Christmas ads. I have no idea how you guys found it, but I have a feeling that N.Y./L.A. duo Powers is bound to gain a whole lot more attention during the holidays with this summer jam.
I'm not entirely sure how to describe Powers' sound here; it's kind of like a fusion of Michael Angelakos' vocals (from Passion Pit) and Saint Motel's power pop style. Regardless of genre, "Gimme Some" has been stuck in my head for the past day. Rest assured, I am now expecting big things from these guys in 2014, considering that this is their first official release.
