The fact that "Fossilized" is able to be so instrumentally explosive yet chilled out is part of the reason I was so intrigued!
Postcards is a dream pop trio from Lebanon and honestly, I didn't even know dream pop was a thing in Lebanon. The distorted and extremely fuzzy guitar on here are akin to the kind of My Bloody Valentine, whilst the vocal melodies reminded me a bit of Cocteau Twins.
Throughout the 4 minutes of the track, "Fossilized" provides an immersive listening experience, as it's quite easy to lose yourself in thick atmospheric textures. Near the end, we're greeted with a finale where an amalgamation of instruments and vocal harmonies clash to bring about a grandiose climax. From what I gather, "Fossilized" is about feeding on anger when we feel helpless in the face of adversity.
