Sure, sure, we're a bit of a hipster blog. Therefore it's only appropriate that we let you know that IFC's series Portlandia has signed for a second season. Starring Fred Armisen (of SNL) and Carrie Brownstein (of Sleater-Kinney), the first episode of the second season is slated to roll on January 9th at 10/9C.
I've watched a couple web-clips in the past -- their shorts are pretty darn funny, and at some points cringe-worthy (by that I mean I can't help but believe the depiction to be accurate).
The show has also featured a nummber of guest appearances, including James Mercer (The Shins), Colin Meloy (The Decembers) and Corin Tucker (Sleater-Kinney). They've even gone so far as to guest-star in a music video for indie pop starlet St. Vincent, which you can see here.
