Why do we like this?
After the first time I listened to Poor Moon a few days ago, I haven't been able to go a day without a dose of their goodness. This Seattle quartet actually includes two active members of Fleet Foxes. Once you listen you'll definitely hear the influence.
This album is truly multifaceted; it works for all seasons and moods. There are tracks on the album that are bright and sunny, and there are others that are somber and mellow. I personally enjoy both aspects -- they make this album an impressive combination of indie pop, some folk and some psych pop. Still, with all things considered, Poor Moon manages to bring an overall unique freshness to their musical style. The harmonies are reminiscent of Fleet Foxes, but for the most part, the music holds its own.
You must listen to Poor Moon's album in its entirety. I'm confident there's a song for almost anyone and everyone.
