Why do we like this?
I'm a huge fan of female-fronted electronic acts, so as you can imagine, Poliça is right up my alley. Their 2012 debut, Give You The Ghost, was moody electronica with a touch of euphoria, and having caught them earlier this year, I have to say that their live performance is beyond amazing.
Which brings us to "Chain My Name," the second single from their soon to be released sophomore effort Shulamith (check out first single "Tiff" here). A pulsating synth line and electronic drum beats lead the charge on this electro-pop ditty. Channy Leaneagh's sparkling vocals hover over the tight production, and with less auto-tune and more dance-like beats, "Chain My Name" is more invigorating than their previous output, hinting at a possible new direction for the Minneapolis duo.
