The leaves are starting to change, and the air is starting to feel cooler. That's right, football season is here. And what better way to celebrate the return of the country's favorite Sunday past time than with a Madden playlist?
The EA Sports football franchise began way back in 1988, with it's first release for Apple II computers, and it has certainly come a long way. Through the years, it has managed to build a huge fan base, while continuing to improve the game. Adding new features and better graphics has been the series' mantra as it has become more and more realistic with each new release. The game has also included some great soundtracks for players to jam to while going head to head with their friends. That is, when they aren't screaming at the TV.
While the newest release of the series came out less than a month ago, the developers had made a few changes -- specifically in terms of the soundtrack. This new direction included the use of a nontraditional soundtrack; instead of using music from different artists, EA Sports orchestrated their own soundtrack in hopes of creating a more dramatic experience. So instead of repping the most recent version, my playlist is based on last year's 2012 release.
Madden NFL 12 featured a mix of rap and rock that trues to make peace with individuals on either side of the musical spectrum. This included indie rappers Chiddy Bang and a cut from the last Beastie Boys album representing rap, with rock being depicted via Grouplove, video game favorite Rise Against, and a Korn track that also featured Skrillex.
Thankfully, here on Indie Shuffle, we don't need to pick a side musically, so enjoy the playlist indiscriminately. Picking sides for your favorite football team though, that's a whole different story.
