It really confuses me when artists can't make up their mind about what genre they are. This is not a problem for fans of Sydney musician PJ Wolf, who has split his varied musical personalities in two. His love of pop/R&B is fulfilled under the moniker Thief Urban (who we covered last month), while PJ Wolf draws influence from the rock/folk genre.
He's currently working on a new EP - recorded entirely to tape with Wolf playing all the instruments (The Light Outside is due for release in early 2013). Some material has already been released however, with single "Coming Apart" popping up on my radar recently. It's an eclectic and thoroughly enjoyable pop track which reminds me of Grizzly Bear's Veckatimest.
PJ Wolf is an inventive musician, and obviously has a huge amount of talent based on what he's put out - artists like this should be celebrated. You can check out his other releases on his Bandcamp.
