Promising Amsterdam youngster Pip Blom continues to get it done with latest single, "Come Home" is another indie pop winner from the 22-year-old.
Taken from the forthcoming EP, Paycheck, "Come Home" is an enchanting low key rocker led by a cathartic guitar riff and hypnotic percussion. Blom's understated vocals rise ever so slightly above the droning instrumentation as she asserts:
You’re waiting staring at your telephone / You think that I’m the one to call home / You’re wasting more than you could ever know / You wish that I’m the one to come home.
It's hard not to love this track, with Blom falling somewhere between the storytelling of Courtney Barnett, the emotional strength of Angel Olsen, and the alternate swagger of The Breeders. Put simply, she's the next big thing and your best bet is to get on board now before she blows up.
Paycheck is set for release October 5th.
