Why do we like this?
I would hardly call this a lullaby, as it's currently invigorating my fuzzy morning brain. "Lullaby" is more a like dew on a mossy forest floor, twinkling in the morning sunlight, or like one of those time-lapse videos of a flower growing -- yeah, it's totally that.
PillowTalk are the dance darlings of the west (San Francisco to be exact) whom we trust to deliver, what is usually, superb house flavored jams. But with their newest EP Lullaby, PillowTalk tends toward an indie dance, 80s-inspired synth-pop sound.
In closing, as PillowTalk so eloquently puts it (while assuming we're all hipsters), "...switch on your Walkman, and drift into that delicious space between...between waking and sleeping, love and loss, making out and making up."
Lullaby EP drops September 24th via Wolf + Lamb, and you can preview the rest of the EP at the label's Soundcloud. Enjoy!
