It seems like a cruel joke that I first heard this smasher when I was two hours deep in trying to untangle a necklace, feeling distinctly like an idiot instead of anyone's favourite.
My puzzle-solving skills have not improved with time, but "Favourite" gets better with each listen. Any feelings of uncertainty in the lyrics are overshadowed by the upbeat riff, the anthemic chorus, and the sense that even in a story of "you and I" there's a strong group of friends behind you to help you feel better and make a killer song (And hopefully fix my necklace).
