Why do we like this?
Pigeon's Settle In EP has been a huge success for the Brisbane band, with two hit singles, a whirlwind national tour, and plenty of radio play that's enhanced the band's status in the Australian music scene. As they now turn their attention to the future, I wouldn't feel right if I didn't bring you one last track from the record, a final nod of appreciation to this great piece of work.

Unlike a lot of comparable acts, Pigeon possesses a talent for creating indie pop music with longevity, rather than tracks that fade away as soon as they finish. The EP's title track, "Settle In," is a perfect example of this. While it's a slower number than previous singles "Climbing Trees" and "Two Moon Love," it's just as potent, and has a nostalgic feel to it that suits its status as the record's last single. Pigeon is a ridiculously tight unit, and the smooth transitions from swinging tropical rhythms to the driving choruses showcase this talent well, as does its balance between electronic elements, vocals, and live instrumentation.

Settle In is a really great EP (my favorite track is actually the upbeat anthem "Crowhurst"), and you should make sure to stream it in full on the band's SoundCloud, or pick it up on iTunes.
