Why do we like this?
Hot off of their second EP Bloodworks, UK-based Phoria present us with "Scopes," a fusion of melismatic vocals and steady percussive progression. The harmonic guitar plucking leads to something of a climactic nature, while the "elegant arrangements and ethereal vocals produce beautiful and eclectic music," according to the band.
Following their initial teasing release of "Red" (which has copped almost 90,000 listens thus far on SoundCloud), Phoria's Bloodworks EP manipulates vast sonic space by utilizing a multi-layered and euphoric approach. "Scopes" channels Phoria's more alternative side as the tempo is increased and accentuated, along with the presence of a plethora of emotional additives that pull on our heart strings.
The entire Bloodworks EP can be streamed on Phoria's SoundCloud page or purchased on iTunes.
