Why do we like this?

Given their locational divide, it's no surprise that Phondupe's music is particularly diverse and unique. Having covered their earlier work a couple of years back, this marks a re-introduction to Indie Shuffle for the duo of Nathan Chan (London) and Richard Lucano (Sydney).

This year, they started a new project, EP The Ecstasy Of. The first single was "Say to the Raker" a couple of months back, and today we share its follow-up, "Street Volcano."

With its looped, almost nursery rhyme-esque opening, the track takes its time to build, gradually intriguing the listener with whispered vocals and carefully placed samples. It takes off toward the finale, as we fall into a shadowy mist of atmospheric electronic production that brings the truly engaging song to a close.

The Ecstasy Of is due out for full release early next year, with two more singles to come.
