Is there anything Lorde can't do? In short, no. The New Zealand sensation is an absolute star and one of my favorite artists. Not only did her sophomore album Melodrama hit the number one spot on the Billboard charts this year, but the well spoken 20-year-old has been touring the globe playing sold out shows while winning a stack of awards. Not bad hey?
This week Lorde visited BBC 1's Live Lounge and added another string to her already impressive bow with one of the shows best covers yet. Taking on the Phil Collins epic "In The Air Tonight" Lorde smashed it out of the park. Following Collins' original arrangement, the instrumentation is sedate until the drums kick in and Lorde's powerful voice explodes with the famous line, "I can feel it in the air tonight, oh lord." This is pure bliss.
Not only is this one of the best Live Lounge covers I've heard in ages, but easily top 5 covers of 2017. Lorde we salute you.
