Why do we like this?
I can't say I'm that familiar with Peter Gabriel's work (nor with Genesis, for that matter), but it seems that's all about to change.
Today marks the release of And I'll Scratch Yours, a compilation album that includes covers of Peter's work by artists such as Feist, Bon Iver, Paul Simon, Regina Spektor, and many other heavy hitters. As the title implies, there's also a second disk titled Scratch My Back, on which Mr. Gabriel covers those artists covering him.
Obviously Arcade Fire have been busy working on their new album, so I'm not entirely sure when this cover was recorded. Regardless of timing, I can't say this cover is one of my favorites -- the final product borders on something a bit too unstructured and hard-to-follow for my liking. That said, I figured some of you might still enjoy it.
