The sun is out and I’m in a daze. I’ve bought an obligatory overpriced iced coffee, the sky is an unfamiliar blue after weeks of solid grey, and I’m already seeing short-shorts and fake tans. It’s 18 degrees Celsius outside.
I’ve been listening to a lot of moody music recently so it’s about time I’ve brought out an upbeat record. “Plus” is the latest single from Peach Tree Rascals, a group of laid-back, California souls. They don’t like school. Winter sucks. Being broke isn’t cool. Through dreamy synths and vibrant bass over a crisp beat the track, and its accompanying music video, is dripped in summer under neon lights and sunset drives.
I’m currently playing this song on full blast to drown out the music in this cafe. I’m buzzed. Buzzed on caffeine, music, and the sun. We’re only expecting a few more days of sun in London but this track makes me feel like it will be here for an eternity.
Go check out the rest of Peach Tree Rascals — all their songs are accompanied by music videos, available on YouTube.
