Why do we like this?

Much like Timber Timbre and Father John Misty, Paul Bergmann rejuvenates the nostalgically romantic notions of country-leaning soulful crooning with a wonderfully sincere and soothing voice.

Both a crooner and a wordsmith, Bergmann has been said to have evolved from his previous EPs and debut LP into a more refined, upbeat version of himself, with forays into electronic beats and off-kilter orchestral arrangements on his newest record “Nothing At All." It's an incredibly melancholic song, but maintains a necessary sense of self-awareness through tongue-in-cheek lyrics necessary for this style in 2017.

"Nothing At All" is the leading title track off his LP which was released on May 5th and produced by avant-garde composer Brendan Eder (who has a background in film scoring and currently helming an experimental chamber ensemble of his own). Jump on this one. It's the kind of fond melancholy which makes you smile rather than slump.
