Drake's OVO Sound Radio Beats 1 show is becoming a must-hear every Saturday evening, and last night was no exception. Not only did the much - second collaboration between Drake and Beyoncé, "Can I," get its first airing, but OVO alumni PARTYNEXTDOOR debuted seven new tracks. Thats right, seven!
While none went past the two and a half minute mark, the tunes impressed, furthering PARTYNEXTDOOR's experimental codeine-fueled R&B sound.
The murky ballad "Make It Rain" is my pick of the bunch. While PARTY's constant refrain of "girl I make it rain" over the drugged-out beat doesn't sound like much, there's a sadness to his auto-tuned vocals, and the positive change in beat just before the song ends hints at a longer version of this track.
