Parquet Courts, the interesting Brooklyn punk-rock band, have announced a new EP to be released very soon (October 8, to be exact). Their debut record, which came out last year, put them on the map as far as the new garage punk scene goes. They have a unique sound mostly revolving around noisey rhythms and awkwardly in-your-face vocals.
This tune, "You've Got Me Wonderin Now," is an instant Parquet Courts classic. The whistling melody over the driving punk rhythm and breathy vocals makes this a head-banging jewel. I've yet to see them live, but I imagine they put on a high-energy show that shouldn't be missed.
