Australian label Future Classic has built up a reputation for harvesting some of the best talent this country has to offer, with the likes of Flight Facilities, Luke Million, and Flume gracing their roster. Another member of the label is Sydney-based Panama, whose first single "Magic" was featured on Indie Shuffle earlier this year. Their debut EP, out next month, will also include their new track "It's Not Over." The EP was recorded in L.A. with former DFA engineer Eric Broucek (LCD Soundsystem, Holy Ghost!, Cut Copy), and will no doubt continue the band's rise to prominence.
While "It's Not Over" contains the tropical touches which made "Magic" so addictive, it's slightly more restrained than the bubbly first single. Incredibly smooth for the most part, the track is broken up with occasional flurries of percussion, while the vocal arrangements are simple but haunting. It's got an evocative nature to it, and this is perfectly portrayed in the accompanying video.
As a group, Panama oozes class - and this track does nothing to dispel the buzz surrounding them.
