Gold Coast producer Paces has been rising steadily over the past year. With fingers in every pot, he is without a doubt one of the hardest working producers in Australia right now. From original tracks featuring Youth, Madeline Vida, and Erin Marshall to producing for Tkay Maidza to his remixes of Crooked Colours, Ou Est Le Swimming Pool, Kilter, and more -- I'm not really sure when he sleeps.
His latest offering, "Nothing's Forever," features honey-voiced Perth artist Kučka, and is my favorite Paces release thus far. It's big and bright, with a deeper beat than some of his other releases. The full bass complements those helium-high vocals, perfectly rounding out the compelling soundscape.
The melody is catchy as hell, while the crunchy, syncopated bass is very cool and satisfyingly wompy. Paces has a knack for injecting what we might consider a 'signature sound' into every track, while managing to keep them fresh and new each time.
