Over the last few years, ØZWALD has had their hands full, releasing loads of new music in a short amount of time. But out of all those songs, “Aunt Amelia” may just be my favorite.
The rhythm is constantly changing as the song goes on. While it definitely radiates a pop sound, some of the other elements (like the high piano keys and lengthy pause in the middle) make it a little haunting.
However, you must keep listening past the two-minute mark to get the full experience. That’s where you’ll hit the bridge, which sounds like a whole new song compared to the beginning. It has a psychedelic feel with some '60s flare. The laid-back and dreamy decrescendo beautifully wraps everything up.
“Aunt Amelia” is the third single from ØZWALD’s latest record, For Polly Anna.If you’re interested in hearing more from the album, check out our review of their song,“Fair Thee Well.”
