Why do we like this?
It's less than two weeks until Owl Eyes will release her debut album Nightswim, and so as a little treat, Brooke has decided that we should all get a copy of the title track "Nightswim" for free! You know what? I sort of feel like going for a swim right about now even though it's pitch black and I have no pool in my backyard -- I am willing to fill a hole with water.
This particular single is much more downtempo, with dashes of melancholy throughout the verses -- yet the chorus is largely quite joyous. This is a synth-driven track, which I suppose will be a recurring theme throughout the entire album. But hey, I'm definitely not complaining, especially since no one sounds more heartfelt over a bed of nostalgic synths than Brooke.
Nightswim is out April 19, 2013, but in the meantime grab your free copy of the title single here.
