Why do we like this?
Oakland producer ONHELL has been hella busy lately, performing a number of bass-heavy shows up and down the West Coast with fellow East Bay producer Sayer.
Attendees have likely been blessed to hear the first live performances of ONHELL's moody new release, Darkness. ONHELL plays up his strengths while pushing his edges out a bit further on the album's eight electronic tracks. Featured instrumental "Dark Skin" is cold on the surface, suppressing what I sense is a fire raging within the producer. With so much left unsaid, we're left to feel around to find balance. Makes sense why he'd title the record Darkness.
Fans can cop the digital album or a limited edition cassette tape via STYLSS's Bandcamp page.
