Australian hip-hop collective One Day has been a pleasant surprise this year, with their album Mainline really hitting home for me. The group -- made up of members from Sydney groups Horrorshow, Spit Syndicate, Joyride, and Jackie Onassis -- first attracted our interest on the album's first single "Love Me Less," but now have another track we're keen to highlight.
"Leave Your Window Open" has already been added to rotation on Australian gatekeeper radio station Triple J, and given its qualities it's not hard to see why. Again, the production is top-notch, and the brief rap verse is sharp and to-the-point. But this song is really headed up by Joyride. His large personality and stature (dude is a giant!) house one of the more soulful vocals going around, and they are highlighted to perfection here.
