Why do we like this?
Sydney duo Olympic Ayres sure sound polished considering their humble beginnings, having started out jamming in a dusty attic. Meeting at a party in 2006, Kamaliza and mmiiddii kept in touch, sending each other small loops and beats every now and then. In 2010, they started collaborating together in the aforementioned attic, which resulted in their debut EP Episode 1. Now, they're ready to release the second installment, with first single "The View" as a sneak peek.
Combining the synth layers of Delphic with the tropical percussion of Friendly Fires, "The View" is as upbeat as you can get. The fast-paced vocal melodies give the track a touch of mid-90s R&B sound "“ this is one song you'll find it difficult not to enjoy.
Episode II is due out in June, but in the meantime "The View" and Episode I should keep your feet busy.
